Originally founded as The Menichino School for Dance over 50 years ago, New Castle Regional Ballet (NCRB) was established in 1987 under the artistic direction of Debbie Parou. NCRB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit pre-professional program dedicated to introducing New Castle and the surrounding areas to the beautiful art of ballet.
The goal of NCRB is to teach children discipline, focus, responsibility, respect, dedication, and grace and most importantly, to inspire a love for this exquisite art form through proper technical ballet training. The skills students develop here prepare them not only for the stage, but also for life.
Thanks to the tireless efforts and dedication of our Board of Directors, NCRB provides students with opportunities to learn from guest master teachers and choreographers, participate in intensive workshops throughout the year and during summer programs, and receive scholarships.
Dancers from NCRB have gone on to graduate from prestigious institutions such as the Juilliard School and SUNY Purchase College, have been accepted into the Duquesne Tamburitzans, performed with professional ballet and modern dance companies, and taught in college dance programs. Graduates of NCRB have also pursued successful careers in education, medicine, law, broadcasting, and many other professional fields.
